At Kindred Kitties, our heart’s mission is to find the perfect match between each cat and their forever family. Every cat has their own story, their own quirks, and their own needs—whether it’s personality, temperament, energy level, comfort with children and other pets, or special medical care.
We take the time to truly get to know them, and to listen to what you’re looking for, so we can make a match that feels meant to be. Our hope for every placement is simple: that this is the place where the cat can finally settle in, feel safe, and know they are home… for the rest of their life.
Once you’ve made the decision to add a new member to your family, you will be asked to complete an adoption application. All adoptions must be preapproved. Once approved, applications are good for four months, after which time you will be asked to submit a new application for reevaluation/approval.
Note: It is highly recommended that you submit an application for approval in advance if you are considering adopting a kitty from us, or if you are planning to visit us at a weekend adoption event.
Your completed adoption application will be evaluated, and you will be notified within 2-3 business days of the status of your application. Please be sure to fill out the application completely in order to expedite the process.
Our goal is for your new cat to enhance the life of you and everyone in your home and for you to enhance the life of your new cat. We take great care in matching our cats to their potential new families. Together, we can make sure the addition of your new cat is successful.
Once you have been approved, our volunteers will work with you, using the information you have provided about your family and our information about our cats to help match your family with the right kitty or kitties that will be a good fit for your home. There are times when some of our kitties would benefit from being adopted as a pair or into a home with another cat. However, some of our cats would not do well going to a home where there are other cats. Our volunteers are here to help you make the best match both for your family and our kindred kitties.
Once you’ve found the kitty (or kitties!) who feels like the right match, we’ll help arrange a time for you to meet them. Most of our cats are living in foster homes, though some may be at our Adoption Center.
If your meeting goes well and you decide to move forward, you’ll complete our Adoption Agreement, which is the binding contract between you and Kindred Kitties. Once the agreement is signed and the adoption fee is paid, your new best friend is ready to head home with you!
