When a cat has been surrendered to Kindred Kitties as a stray, an owner has four days to reclaim the cat. After a four-day stray-hold, the cat will become the property of Kindred Kitties. Following are the requirements for proof of ownership and Reclaim Fees. Fees must be paid by cash only and are due at the time of pick up.
Reclaim Fees*: $39.00. A $10.00 per day boarding fee is charged after the first day. Reclaim Fees must be paid by cash. The $39 fee doubles the second time an animals comes in ($78) and triples the third time ($117) and so on. If the animal has been vetted while in our care, the cost for the vetting will replace the $39 fee.
Microchipping your pet greatly increases the likelihood of their returning to you if they are lost. All pets released back to their owners will be microchipped. A microchip fee of $15 will also be assessed which includes lifetime registration.
*AN UP-TO-DATE RABIES VACCINATION WITH PROOF IS REQUIRED BY LAW BEFORE AN ANIMAL IS RELEASED BACK TO THE OWNER. If you do not have proof you must prepay for the rabies vaccine.
